There is nothing our girl enjoys more than the weekends! She is so crazy about her family and she is so tickled on Saturday morning when she gets up and everyone tells her they are staying home from school. I have never seen a child so in love with her family. She teaches us all so much. It gives me tears of joy when I see her face when the kids come home from school. There are days when I really could just disappear and she wouldn't notice because she is so busy following them around. (And bossing them around)On school days she howls HO.........Mm HO.........Mm when they have to leave for school or dance or gymnastics and she just wants them to stay home with her. She loves our family time. She just giggles and swings her little body all over the place when we are all together in one room.
These siblings of hers are nothing short of amazing, they make every minute together fun and playful. If I were her I would want them around 24/7 too. I knew that having a daughter this much younger than her other siblings was going to be fun and a blessing, I never even flinched when people would say "Are you sure? OR.. Are you crazy? OR...You've got it so easy now, why would you go and start over??" We knew that our daughter/sister was waiting for us in China and we couldn't wait to hear exactly where in China she was or when we could go get her. But...... I wasn't even close to envisioning the joy she would fill this family with, the blessings she would bring to us and others, the fun that was about to begin, the immeasurable amount of love that every one of us has for this little blessing from China. It's the weekend baby girl!! Put your party pants on cuz the kids and Daddy are staying HO.......Mm!

Lexi meets Sprinkles
If you are one of the lucky people who live in one of the 6 states that has a Sprinkle Cupcakes Bakery, you know just how my baby girl is feeling right now.
You see it was after all her very first trip to the heavenly place, and she was ready!
Oh my!!
Once she dove in, she was hooked!
Up for air
But not for long
Dreaming of what flavor she will try next time! |
Although she sure did try, she ended up never actually making it to the cupcake!
She was quite content with the sugar buzz she got from the frosting alone.

Sunday snapshot
I've never joined in with sunday Snapshot before but todays little happenings seemed perfect for such a post. You see my little pumpkin is a warrior! She is not afraid of the dark, she will sit in a pitch dark closet for 5 minutes just waiting to say BO (her way of saying BOO) when you open the door. She loved all the chartacers at Disneyland, the bigger and odder.. the better! She'll stomp on a bug and pick it up with a tissue and flush it down the toilet. And today she topped it all!!!
She cradled it, gave it a little squeeze (ehh), and held it for quite a few minutes!
And thats a whole lot more than mommy could ever do!
Oh don't get me wrong, she does have her fears... Grass, Sand, Vaccume Cleaners
Strangers, Church Childcare, doctors offices, doctors, anyone who works for a doctor
She can smell them from a mile away!
But today no fear got in the way! She loves nature and while she is as girly as they come even at her tiny 20 month age, she is so brave!

Kayaking and the rest of the week at the beach
Well kayaking in the ocean was just a blast! We had to change things up a bit because of Bryans shoulder. He was worried about over extending it so he decided to stay back with Cassidy and Lexi while Brady, Rylee and I went off on our adventure. We were right along the sides of several Bottle Nose Dolphin, met a sweet harbor seal up close and personal, saw the most beautiful colored fish and sea stars, and rode some pretty fun waves. The remainder of our days at the beach were so fun and so relaxing. Lexi did sit in the sand and dig with her shovel but she never would stand in it, walk in it or touch it without lots of enthusiastic “help” from her sisters.

Day 3
Looking out from the Master bedroom
So bummed that I left the camera behind when we went to play at the beach today. Luckily I had it on our morning walk so there are pictures from that. Bryan and Brady had lots of fun body surfung today and Bryan (forgetting that he is not 19 any more) dislocated his shoulder while riding the waves. He's fine, I popped it back in for him (really gross) and he is doing great. This isn't the first time it's happened, poor guy!
