A date with the princesses

Today was our lunch at Ariels Grotto. A princess lunch! Lexi was so excited to meet Ariel! We went to dress Ivy in her Cinderella Dress and she said, Uh... No Tanks Princess Dress!! NO TANKS!! And that was that. When Ivy says, no tanks... she means business!
I could tell from the moment she woke up that she was not feeling great. She looked puffy and she was moving very stiff. She picked out her ultra puffy pink petti instead! We planned on heading to California Adventure to ride rides before lunch but Ivy had us too worried so we stayed at the hotel until 11. We rode the Ariel Adventure Ride and the merry go round and then headed to our 11:40 lunch. I think Ariels Adventure might just be Ivy's favorite ride yet. She had just watched the Little Mermaid movie a few days prior to our trip, so like Lexi, she was really in to it!

The princesses were introduced one by one and then came right to our table. Snow white was the fairest of them all hahah..

You can see how quickly Ivy's face is swelling up.

She didn't touch her lunch and was pretty much ready to go from the moment we sat down.

Lexi was having the time of her life.

The moment little Ivy was back in her stroller she was asleep. We spent the whole day at the hotel. Ivy slept for over 4 hours. Poor baby was not feeling well.

While Ivy slept, the 2 bigs who are with us spent some time at the parks riding the ~big kid~ rides and Lexi and I took a walk in the garden and played outside the hotel at Downtown Disney.

                 My little Chinese Alice :)

Daddy napped with Ivy Joy. He dislocated his shoulder in his sleep the night before we left for disney and we had spent our sleeping hours in the ER getting his shoulder popped back in place.... So  this nap was much needed catch up for him! As you can see by the photo, even while sleeping, she runs the show!

And later that evening when Ivy woke up, we took her out to watch the parade. She absolutely loved it!! I know you can't tell by he somber face, but once it started she was all smiles. I could not take my eyes off of her and her delight as all of the characters danced and the music blared. Lexi slept through the entire thing. We were right under a speaker.. (LOUD) and she just slept!!

You can see how quickly she puffed up :(

I wish I was this beautiful when ~puffy~

I was able to get quite a bit of fluid off her that night and by the following morning she was quite a bit better.

Disneyland

Pin It I thought I would just post really quick updates mostly for the kids that are not with us, thus naming each post a page number. Well it seems silly now. You know me, I write in chapters and can never post less than a dozen photos. So enough with the explanations, here is day 2 :)

Lexi thought Aladdin's crunchy hair was hilarious! She even had him cracking up from her contagious giggle!

And, since Aladdin is human, Ivy allowed him to get near her. She really does love to see the characters, she just doesn't like them to come up next to her for a picture.

Still going on about Aladdin's hair..... wig lol.

Ivy discovered drum sticks today! She devoured a few chicken legs. Lexi does not eat meat so this was different for us. Every time a character came near she would start munching on her chicken so they could not "get it". So funny how she is with her food! She is still not keen on photos with the characters so you are stuck with photos with her and her chicken!

Both the girls love all the rides.
Neither are afraid of any of them.
Lexi is tall enough for Gadgets Go Coaster in Toontown (must be 35") but that is the only fast ride from both parks that she could go on. She was really hoping to ride the big kid rides, so we made a big deal about the Toontown coaster as her very first roller coaster ride!

The park has been quite crowded and Ivy tires after just a few hours there so we are feeling incredibly grateful for our assisted guest pass that allows us to walk right on the rides with her. I think the longest she has waited for any ride is 5 minutes!

We usually spend time with everyone in the morning and then head back so Ivy can rest. Bryan takes Brady back to the park if both girls are napping, or Brady and Rylee stay there to ride the wild rides.  Rylee usually takes Lexi to the pool if just Ivy is napping. I won't kid you, It has been a lot of work! Medications, stay out of the sun, keep Ivy rested, keep her hydrated, time for meds again.... but I have to say, every second has been so worth it! If not for the monorail and staying right on the property we probably could not have made this work. This trip has been a reminder of how fragile our girl still is. But oh my, what a wonderful time she is having!

Disneyland Page 1

The girls all ready for the day of travel. They woke up shrieking with JOY!!!

They were both like a dream traveling with.
Both napped at different times and when we arrived 7 hours later they were still smiling ear to ear. Ivy discovered Cheeto's and that is now her new chip of choice. Yay.... Orange fingers! She is showing the off in this picture below.

Once we arrived and got settled we ventured out to the pool.

Ivy's big baby belly is her classic side effect of infants with severe pulmonary hypertension. If big belly is a possible side effect of any condition, Ivy Joy can usually count on it. Some days it is better than others. Travel day it was huge as you can see. But this morning it is smaller. Thankful for that!

After our swim, it was off to meet up with Goofy for dinner!

It took Ivy Joy a little while to warm up to the characters but each day she gets a little more in to it! Lexi on the other hand has always mauled the characters with hugs and kisses and this day was sure no different! She had them coming back for more dancing and hugs and giggles all evening!

Ivy was very certain that Dale was going to eat her ~Macky Cheese~ as she calls it.

By the end of dinner Ivy asked to go catch minnie! So Daddy grabbed the camera, Mommy held her hand, and off we ran. When Minnie saw her coming she was thrilled! She went down to her knees instantly and Ivy took a step to her!

The photo below is of our headboards. It has lights that flicker on the fireworks and it plays music. The girls thought it was awesome! I think its pretty cool too :)
Happiest place on earth indeed!!!!!! This was only travel day!
We are having an amazing time!  Pin It
