Where did July go?

We are getting ready to leave for a week in the sand. Before we go I thought I'd do a quick post since I am behind.

I just love the little lips on my girl! She does the cutest things with them!
Look at all that hair....?

At this rate, we should be able to make pigtails by the time she is 10??

Lexi loves these little fur boots and she fits in them perfectly right now.
Too bad its 111* outside??

So when she wakes up in the morning we put
them on and use them like slippers.

We were blessed with some time away at our friends
cabin in Happy Jack . I fell in love with the amazing deck,
the view was breathtaking!

Lexi thought so too!

They took us to the creek to do some crawdad fishing.

Brady thought it was awesome!
Lexi thought it was awesome!
She called them BUGS and made her classic noise kkkhhh...
(she makes this sound for anything she thinks is gross)

And before I knew it, everyone was dropping in a stocking
full of hot dogs in hopes of catching some little critters.

The weather was perfect and we had a wonderful time!

See you next time, AT THE BEACH!

These are a few of my favorite things..

While we were away on our girls trip in So. CA we took Lexi to a theme park called Adventure City. It is a park geared just for6 and under. All of the rides are “kiddie” and they had a Thomas Train. Well Lexi is really loving trains right now. She hears the train run about a mile from our house and we have to go running out back and stand up on the waterfall to the pool so she can watch it go by. Any way… I sent Daddy a picture of her playing with the toy trains at the train tables they had set up in the park and when we came home there was a surprise for Lexi. Daddy went out and got Lexi her own Train table complete with a really cool train set that lights up and makes all sorts of train sounds as you drive along the track. What a cool Daddy these kids have!

Umbrellas, ah if we could only have a use for one here in the desert. Nope, no rain but Lexi loves umbrellas and she will sit with her’s and watch Barney sing Kerplink Kerplop with his umbrella 10 times over. She loves Barney Songs DVD because it is just songs and this girlie LOVES music and catchy songs. Sometimes when I try to fall asleep at night all I can hear is Kerplink Kerplop Kerplink Kerplop..Thanks Barney.

Favorite thing # 3.

I have gotten a few emails as well as a comment asking me for more information on Lexi’s favorite video, Play and Learn Chinese with Mei Mei. This is a DVD (we have the audio cd as well) that we purchased on line. We got ours from meimeiandme.com The Chinese woman (mei mei) has taught Chinese in Montessori schools for many years. She is Chinese, and resides in the U.S. After adopting her daughter in 2000 from China, she began making these videos for all the families out their with children from China in hopes that they would learn some of their native language as well as the culture. When I first watched the video I was not sure it was worth half what I paid for it. It seemed very boring, very low budget and, well, just not what I was expecting. Lexi on the other hand felt very different. She was glued, just taking it all in. The second time she watched it she was pointing to all her body parts and doing the action words before anyone on the video was doing them. I don’t know what it is but she loves this Mei Mei person and she has learned so much Chinese from it. I just ordered volume 2 and 3 of play and learn and volume 4 Dance and Learn. I’ll let you know what we think about them when they arrive.

Favorite thing #4

Playing pretend. These pictures were taken by Cassidy while she and Rylee were babysitting. Lexi was pretending to give her Ducky and bath. She is so good at pretending and also LOVES playing hide and seek. She hides in the same spot EVERY SINGLE time and it is so darn cute. She will also cover her eyes while someone else hides but I have caught her peeking many a time!!

It's HOT!! REALLY HOT

Thursday night when I picked Rylee up from dance AT 9PM..... it was 111* outside! That's not a typo! Our high yesterday was 118* and our LOW last night was 93! Our pool is more like a hot spring than a pool right now. I think we need to throw a few dozen bags of ice in it tomorrow. We really can't do much or go anywhere because, well you know that surprise you get when you open up the oven to see if the food is ready and you put your head to close to the inside... the heat rises right up your nose and you get an instant facial. Well yep that's what it feels like outside. And then try putting a baby in the carseat after its been sitting in the 115 * parking lot...not pretty.
So.... we are very excited to have a visitor for the next 2 weeks. Someone that makes the kids days a lot more fun, for sure more exciting, and is very helpful with keeping the floor clean around Lexi's highchair. He loves to swim, in fact we can't keep him out of the pool and he makes Lexi feel as if she is out swimming with the dophins. I really wasn't thrilled about having a dog in my pool when he first jumped in. But once I saw how much he loves the water and how happy and content he is to just sit on the resting seat and soak... I caved in.
Isn't he the cutest!

19 months old today!

My Princess Baby Cakes is 19 months old today!

I can hardly fathom how much she has grown and how far she has come since we first held her in our arms 8 months ago. She is such a happy baby. She is running and spinning now. She tries to jump but can't seem to get those feet off the ground. She has her little orthodics inside her shoes and dislikes them with passion! She tries to get carried around when they are in because they are so uncomfortable and it breaks my heart. Today is only day 2 with them. We add an hour a day to the wearing time until she reaches 6 hours per day. He feet already look so much better just from the strength she has built up and the doctors don't expect she will be wearing them long. Her toes no longer fan out. We are just trying to get her to shift her weight on her whole foot instead of just the inside.

Her hair is finally coming in. Don't get me wrong... it is still like thin velvet but her bows actually stay in for more than an hour now without sliding right out. She is still just 19 pounds, she has gotten taller and lost a little bit of her precious chubbs. She still has every bit of those edible cheeks though! We pretty much kiss them from sun up to sun down!

She is trying to go under water when she swims and she loves to practice her Chinese. She can show you where all of her body parts are in Chinese now. Of course she can do this in English too but her Chinese is very good thanks to her little video Play and Learn Chinese with Mei Mei. She loves to play pull the carrot in Chinese while we sing the song. She knows other chinese action words like nod your head, dance, clap, wiggle your bottom, laugh, cry, jump, and shake hands. She is a smart little girl and shocks us all with her level of comprehension.
