Good Morning From Snowy Boston

The snow fall outside is heavy and it's pretty dark and gloomy. Unlike our extremely happy room where  there are big brown eyes trying to escape all the sedation and tiny little arms that are waving around. The princess has emerged and she is trying to order a bottle of water! She's very disappointed in the response she's getting. That being said, it's an absolutely fantastic day here in Boston!
Ivy's LA pressures have been so good that her wires to monitor them are being removed in a few hours! She is still not taking enough breaths on her own to come off the ventilator so we will slowly be weaning the sleepy meds to aid with that. She has a NG (feeding) tube placed and is handling tiny feeds just fine. She is still getting her full fat supplement through her IV. She looks so much better off of that paralysis med which we stopped yesterday afternoon. Her bleed has continued to shrink.
She really wants to talk and really wants the breathing tube out but like I said before, she is still way too sleepy. So today, we lose some accessories, we wean some more drugs, and we wake up!!! Tomorrow could be a very exciting day!!!!

  26. "Your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God. Your best days are never so good that you are beyond the need of God."
I don't know where I got this quote - it's not my original thought but something I wrote down in a Bible study. It's such a simple concept to remember, but as humans we often forget. What you, Bry, Ivy and the rest of the family have been through is certainly a testament to this quote.
    Love you, ~J.
