set free

Hello from Freezing Boston! I'm pretty sure my lip gloss froze on my lips this morning when I walked across the street to Starbucks!

I am going to spare you the details of the very long past 2 days waiting and waiting with a very awake and ready girl to get that ventilator out!!

Today however, at 6am, Ivy became a FREE girl!
We hope to not be seeing that thing again for a very long time!

Today Ivy will have her first echo since surgery. On pins and needles for that! We will push forward with her feeds and even let her try to take food by mouth if she seems interested!

So right now Little Miss Precious is taking a little nap. She has had lots of sips of her beloved water. She does cough as she always has after the ventilator comes out so I'm sure we will be doing the usual tests to be sure she's not aspirating. Her color looked funny to me yesterday and after I told her surgeon it was determined that she needed blood. After last nights transfusion she does look better.
She's been content this morning watching Disney Junior and playing on the iPad. I am so grateful for this day and so looking forward to finally moving forward!

The Sovereign Lord is my strength. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to tread on the heights.

  2. Mary- my stomach dropped when I read the title. I took it to mean something else. But so much joy washed over me when I read it was about the vent. I'm so ecstatic for you! Go Ivy go! She inspires me in everything. Her courage and her determination..... Well, you have witnessed it first hand. Just so thankful today to have been touched by Ivy. Beth
