More Sunshine

Pin It We are still trucking along here with lots of good days and a very awake and happy little Miss Ivy! She really really dislikes the heat so we just can't wait until it cools off around here! She is still very very timid with walking but she is so much more mobile lately and even took her first tumble that landed her a shiner on her sweet little cheek. She was standing up just leaning with her back against the couch and her little legs just got tired and wobbly and down she went, face planted on the tile. She is still pretty weak and doesn't really have the strength to break her falls so it's no wonder she insists on doing all her walking with mommy's hands held. I put her in the johnny jumper that hangs on the door jam and cut the clamp off of it. With me holding on to it like a leash, she walks all over the house in that, using none of my help but comforted by the security of it being there. She just needs confidence and a little fat to pad her falls.

I could not take her little mullet any longer... So today she got her hair cut and while she did have lots of silent tears, she sat nice and still and did a great job!

I love it!

She looks so much better with her little hair cut!

I find it so funny that I ended up with 2 little Chinese sweeties that have the thinest finest hair ever!

15 pounds and 29 inches of spice!!

And more sweetness than we could ever know what to do with!

Yesterday I showed Lexi a picture of one of my friends little girls (also Chinese, same age) who just got a little hair cut. She looked at the picture and said, "Oh Mommy, that's~a   the   same~a    kind of long hair Im going to grow when I get bigger!!" So precious!

Sweet baby girl will be 4 in December and still can't fit all of her hair in teeny tiny piggie tails! It just doesn't grow and she drinks soooooo much milk, has Keratin Shampoo, Eats plenty of fruits and veggies and nuts and she takes a multi vitamin. Oh well, It's shiny and soft as velvet and eventually, maybe not for years, but some day... It will grow :)

So Tuesday is the big day for Ivy. We already know that Sildenafil has majorly improved her quality of life but we will have an Echo and see what things are looking like. We have an appointment with the GI surgeon on the 12th to determine if she is a good candidate for a G Tube and will schedule the surgery in coordination with her upcoming heart catheterization. The less sedation, the safer for Ivy.

We have not heard anything back about second opinions yet. Waiting very very anxiously for that one! But pleased as can be with Ivy's baby step progress.

Matthew 11:28-30
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

I leave you with the sweetest littles in the world. Sorry if you already saw this on Facebook, I just couldn't resist posting here too.

This picture puts in to prospective, just how TINY Ivy is. Lexi is a average if not small  3.5 year old. She is 37 inches tall and 28.5 pounds. She has very long legs and a very short torso. Look at Ivy's legs next to Lexi's...... They are sooooo little!!! I think that even if she was not in heart failure and gaining weight on her own curve, she is just a small girl. Everything about her is, small.

This picture gives me great things to look forward to! Sleepovers with these two giggling all night! Cooking up all sorts of mischief!
Wishing you a wonderful Long Weekend! Pin It

I am so happy Ivy is doing so well!!! She is always in my thoughts & prayers, as is your entire family. I just wanted to let you know, my niece was almost 7 years old before her hair really started growing in well. And even then (& now as a teenager), she just has very fine, somewhat thin hair. It will happen in time!! :)

You should look up Walking Wings. It helped my little girl walk and is easier on your body. Also, trimming my little girl's hair sparks growth, you might try that? Your 2 little girls are as cute as angels.

So wonderful to see your little one doing well. Thank you for your comment on my blog a while back and encouraging me. We are walking out our adoption in faith..believing this little one is our daughter. :) Your story is amazing and gives light to those who are being called by God to adopt children who have severe special needs.

I just LOVE your blog. You are such a sweet family. Your daughters (even bio ones) are beautiful. I really struggle to read your blog with the lines in the background. I don't want to miss one single word to pray for your needs....but it is difficult to read. Am I the only one who has mentioned this? God bless you all.

Hi Girls,

My name is Jenna. You are a brave courageous fighter. you are a special miracle from god, a gift from above, earthly angel, and you are a smilen hero. You are full of happiness, life, smiles, joy, fun, love, and spunk.

I was born with a rare life threatening disease, and have 14 other medical conditions, and developmental delays.

I wrote this poem
Each of us are Special
Each of us different,
No one is the same
Each of are us are unique in our own way,
Those of us who have challenges, we smile through our day.
Those who of us who have challenges, we smile through our day.
It doesn't matter what others say
we are special anyway.

How sweet!! Loving the new haircut!! LiLi's hair too a LONG time to grow in too. I think it FINALLY got thicker and grew good when she she was 6. Each year she would get additional growth but took forever to grow longer. I have hear Asian hair does take.a long time to come in. Good news, once all in, it will be nice and thick.

Still praying Miss Ivy and your family for the best!!

Oh, I see you said you are on FB. Could you friend me? It would be easier for me to keep up with your family because I use my phone more than a main computer. Friend me at Sharyn Walsh DiMuzio. Thanks!!!
