Love: Day 13

Bryan and I celebrated Valentines Day today. We figured it would be a lot more fun to celebrate all day since tomorrow is a weekday. He woke up early and went to Starbucks, then came home and set up the sweetest little area with my coffee, my card and gift, and today's paper. Then he set out gifts for all the girls, tagged with their names by each one. It was so sweet! He took Brady shopping with him and told him that Valentines day is a girls holiday and so the male should treat the females he respects with special treats and special affection that day. So Brady bought candy for all of the girls and added it.
We went to church and then Bryan and I went out while the girls took care of Lexi. We went to dinner and later saw a movie. We saw True Grit and I have to say it was really good! I chose it for Bryan, but loved it myself!
I love this new camera bag!!!

Saying So Long to my scary backpack was wonderful.

Love: Day 12

Pin It Oh boy this posting every day thing is getting a little tough. And taking and downloading pictures every day is sometimes a bit much. But I do Love that I have so much to look back on as Lexi grows up. I am excited to turn Lexi's first year home into a book and have been working on that a lot lately.
Today Bryan took Lexi on a special Date. They went to Chandler Fashion Center, rode the train that takes you around the entire bottom level of the mall. They had dinner and they played in the indoor play center. She was so excited, singing TRAIN and spinning in circles. I couldn't keep her still long enough to snap more than a few really bad pictures but here you go anyway :)
Hurry up Daddy, I'm ready to ride the train!!

Any time she is outside she has to go next door to tell the dogs to stop barking. They are the most annoying dogs anyone could ever live next to!!!

Lexi could not keep her eyes open, it was so sunny outside today. We hit 80* And the forecast shows we are in the 80's all next week!!

Love: Day 11

Pin It I started Lexi in Gymboree classes 6 weeks after we came home from China. I Love Gymboree and it's purpose. I knew Lexi would love the music classes so we started there. After a few weeks we added the play class. She Loves to go to her classes and she loves her teachers. She will run to Miss Susie and just dive in her arms for a big hug.

Tonight we attended a big Valentines Day party with our class. It was so cute, once again Miss Susie did an amazing job. (She's our favorite!) Lexi made her first valentine and she was so proud of it. She actually considered sitting in the art room to hold her valentine instead of going out to play for the rest of the party. She changed her mind once she heard it was parachute time.  I think we may need to switch one of our classes for an art class!

Love: Day 10

Pin It I will be honest, I don't love cooking. I so wish I did. It's not that I can't cook or that I don't cook, it's just that I wish I could just whip up amazing things so beautiful they should be in magazines. I wish I could turn a few fresh vegetables, some herbs and some chicken in to a succulent dish at the drop of a hat. But honestly, I just dread the kids always asking whats for dinner. I dread the end of the week when I am out of fresh ideas and sick of the kitchen. My sister has chef in her blood. She is one of those people that can make anything and does. She is a nurse but she loves to cook and can make anything taste like heaven. It's a gift she has, my dad had it too. Me, not so much.

But what I do love to do is bake. And I love to do it with my kids. And since my big kids were in their sweats and fresh out of the shower they made me promise to keep them off the blog as usual. Sigh.. So here's  Lexi making her Valentines day cookies. We plan to do this again with her little friend Sam on Monday. It is always so much fun watching her make cookies. Actually, she doesn't usually make more than one, and she is eating it the whole time she's making it. And yes she gets her own frosting and her own knife so we don't share cooties!

Psalm 127:3-5 "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate."
